Equinix buys Asia Tone for $230m

Acquisition of Hong Kong’s Asia Tone expands Equinix’s information centre footprint to 105 in 38 countries

Data centre user Equinix has acquired Hong Kong’s information centre owners Asia Tone for $230 million in cash. The merger means Equinix now has 105 information centres in 38 markets.
The latest understanding brings one disaster liberation centre and 6 information centres in Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
President and CEO Steve Smith said: “With a merger of Asia Tone, Equinix is in a clever position to settle marketplace care in Asia-Pacific. As a fastest flourishing segment and one in high direct by customers, we see a extensive event to continue a lane record of expansion in Asia-Pacific.”
Asia Tone has over 80 clients opposite a region, out of that scarcely one-third are already Equinix’s clients.
Smith added: “With a increasing footprint in China and flourishing ability in Shanghai, we are good positioned to accommodate direct from multi-national business looking to enhance in this high-growth market.” GTB
